Scooter Braun Supports Ellen DeGeneres Amid Workplace Misconduct Allegations: ‘Keep Your Head Held High’

Scooter Braun is coming to the defense of Ellen DeGeneres.

Following published reports about an alleged toxic work environment at The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the high-profile artist manager — whose clients Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato have appeared as guests on the show — shared his support for DeGeneres on social media Friday (July 31).

“People love to take shots. They love to see people fall. How quickly so many forget. How easy it is to stay quiet when it doesn’t effect them,” Braun tweeted. “@TheEllenShow is a kind, thoughtful, courageous human being who stands for what is right and highlights on her show the best of us. She has helped change the views for equality.”

In early July, Buzzfeed published a widely circulated story featuring numerous former employees of The Ellen DeGeneres Show anonymously accusing the show’s top producers of racism, intimidation, unjust termination and a toxic work culture.

DeGeneres recently addressed the allegations in a letter to her crew, noting that she ultimately takes responsibility since the show bears her name, and gave assurance that steps will be taken to “correct the issues” going forward, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In an Instagram post, Braun added, “She doesn’t do what is popular she does what is right. Her story shows us that. Her history provides us a better world. Today I’m sending love out to her. I know first hand how much she helps others both when we are all watching and when we are not. @theellenshow thank you for all you do and keep your head held high.”

American Idol season 10 alum Casey Abrams replied to Braun’s note on Twitter, writing that he had a pleasant experience while appearing as a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2011.

“For sure! She was super nice when I was on her show! She spreads kindness,” Abrams tweeted.

Needed to say this as I know first hand how she helps so many when we are watching and when we are not. She isn’t about what is popular she is about what is right. Sending love to Ellen today.
