As Nick Cordero remains in the ICU due to coronavirus complications, the actor’s wife Amanda Kloots shared some happy news via Instagram Tuesday (June 16). The couple’s one-year-old son, Elvis, started walking.
Kloots shared an adorable video of the toddler smiling and making his way to his mom after she encourages him to “walk to mama.” “We have a WALKER!!!!!” she captioned the post.
For more than two months, Cordero has been hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Cordero has suffered multiple complications due to COVID-19, including major lung damage, and clotting issues that led to one of his legs being amputated. By early May, the Tony nominee had finally regained consciousness from his medically-induced coma, though he remains on a ventilator.
Last week, Kloots celebrated Elvis’ first birthday, and expressed sadness that the Broadway actor couldn’t be there. “Tomorrow is Elvis’ first birthday. He was born at 6:41 a.m. We have some fun things planned for the little guy,” Kloots said on her Instagram Story last week. “I’ll definitely be FaceTiming with Nick at some point. It breaks my heart that Nick can’t be there — I literally can’t even talk about it because it makes me so sad.”
She also posted another photo of newborn Elvis at the hospital, revealing that the baby was rushed to the NICU because of fluid in his lungs. “My two Cordero men: last June Elvis is in the NICU. This June Nick is in the ICU. These guys are really trying to take me down,” she wrote.
