Nelly Furtado first stepped onto the scene two decades ago when she released her debut album Whoa, Nelly! on Oct. 24, 2020.
On Friday, the Canadian-Portuguese singer-songwriter will celebrate the anniversary of her Grammy-nominated and RIAA-certified double-platinum album by releasing a digital-only expanded edition via Dreamworks/UMe.
“WOW!!! Twenty years! How did this happen? So excited! Thanks for all the love over the years,” Furtado wrote via Instagram on Tuesday (Oct. 20) to accompany a 20-year-old video of the singer introducing herself. “Feeling so grateful, and looking forward to making more pop music in the future. Thanks ! Gracias ! Obrigada ! And Much Love, Nelly.”
The 20th-anniversary expanded edition of Whoa, Nelly!, which is available for pre-order here, will include the 12 original tracks, such as the Grammy-winning single “I’m Like a Bird,” the five tracks from the two-disc 2008 Special Edition, and five digital-only bonus tracks. The 22-song track list now features the live version of “Baby Girl,” “Party (Reprise),” the Timbaland remix of “Turn Off the Light,” “I’m Like a Bird (Junior Vasquez Club Anthem)” and “Onde Estas.”
