As people everywhere are still staying inside thanks to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, fashion brand Gucci is taking its product into the great outdoors, and it’s bringing along some of your favorite stars.
Gucci announced on Tuesday (June 16) its first-ever sustainable fashion line, Gucci Off the Grid, with the help of stars such as Lil Nas X, King Princess, Jane Fonda and more. The new eco-friendly fashion line comes as part of Gucci’s Circular Lines initiative, which supports the circular production of sustainable fashion.
In the video clip for Gucci’s new campaign (filmed in Los Angeles before the coronavirus shutdown), Lil Nas X, King Princess and Fonda are joined by Japanese artist Miyavi and environmentalist David Mayer de Rothschild as they build a massive tree house in the middle of a bustling city.
“The collection is the result of teamwork; everybody brought something to it. And in the campaign, too, there is this idea of dialogue among people building something new,” Alessandro Michele, Gucci’s creative director, said in a statement. “I imagined that we could build a tree house in a city center, all together, like kids playing in the park. Because all of us need to build this house or to find out that our planet exists, even where it seems it’s not there, or it’s far away.”
