On her Instagram Story, the star shared somber, black-and-white photos of the pair from the set of the popular musical series, as well as a touching throwback of herself, Rivera and several other Glee cast mates including Dianna Agron, Heather Morris, Chris Colfer and Jenna Ushkowitz looking out an an unnamed beach.
In the wake of her heartbreaking disappearance in Lake Piru, Calif. on July 8, Rivera’s body was found by search and rescue divers on the seventh anniversary of Monteith’s untimely death. (The latter, who was dating Michele at the time of his death, passed away in 2013 due to an accidental drug overdose.)
As longtime Gleeks will recall, Michele famously butted heads with Rivera over the course of Glee’s six seasons, with the latter revealing in her 2016 memoir that her co-star “didn’t say a word to me” for the entirety of the show’s final season. However, she also maintained that rumors of a feud between the two were “overblown” and revealed during a 2019 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that she wasn’t harboring “any beef” with her on-screen nemesis.
Together with the rest of their cast, Michele and her late co-stars landed an incredible 207 entries onto the Billboard Hot 100 over the course of Glee’s run, with their famous cover of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” peaking at No. 4 in 2009.
