Lana Del Rey Shares Moody Recital of ‘Salamander’: Watch

Lana Del Rey took something of a left turn when she released Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass, a collection of poems read by the alternative pop singer with music by long-time collaborator Jack Antonoff.

Now, Del Rey has shared a performance from it, a recital of “Salamander”.

The DIY production is captured with a grainy filter, and sees Del Rey reading from a manuscript in a backyard.

The Violet audiobook is out now. Hardcover and ebook editions will include over 30 original Del Rey poems and should drop Sept. 29 via Simon & Schuster, with CDs, vinyl, picture discs and bundles landing soon after, on Oct. 2.

Before that, Del Rey will release a new album of musical works, Chemtrails over the Country Club. It’s due out Sept. 5, and is the followup to Norman F—ing Rockwell, her sixth studio album which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.
