Zendaya scored her first Emmy nomination yesterday (July 28) for outstanding lead actress in a drama series for her HBO series Euphoria, and her famous friends couldn’t be happier.

“I’m honestly speechless, my heart is just overflowing with love and gratitude. I’m so incredibly honored to work beside the talented people that I get to call family,” the 23-year-old actress wrote on Twitter yesterday following the news. “I am a small piece of a big beautiful puzzle and I’m so proud of all of you. Thank you to everyone out there– who’s watched and given our show life, thank you @samlev00 @hbo @a24 for everything and @televisionacad for this beautiful acknowledgment, thank you, thank you, thank you. We out here Emmy nominated y’all!!”

Euphoria snagged five Emmy more noms for a total of six, including outstanding contemporary costumes, outstanding contemporary makeup (non-prosthetic), and outstanding music supervision. Labrinth specifically scored two nods for his musical work in the series, one for outstanding music composition in a series (original dramatic score) and the other for outstanding original music and lyrics.

Janelle Monáe shared Euphoria’s celebratory message about Zendaya’s first Emmy nom on her Twitter yesterday, writing, “beyond” with fire emojis, to which the lead actress replied, “Thank u sis.”

Zendaya also thanked Chloe x Halle, who showed love to the Black female actresses who received nominations alongside her, including Issa Rae for outstanding lead actress in a comedy series for her HBO series Insecure, Kerry Washington for outstanding lead actress in a limited series or movie for her Hulu series Little Fires Everywhere, and Regina King for the same category as Washington for her HBO series Watchmen.

“woke up to the best news,” the sister R&B duo tweeted with a GIF of Whitney Houston and Natalie Cole pointing at each other and laughing at the 1992 American Music Awards. “congrats to @Zendaya @IssaRae @kerrywashington @ReginaKing on your emmy noms!!! zamnnnn #BlackGirlMagic.”

Reese Witherspoon, whom critics say was snubbed from receiving any Emmy nominations for her work in Big Little Lies, Little Fires Everywhere and The Morning Show, shared Zendaya’s initial message of gratitude and wrote how much she “loved this show. So well deserved!! @Zendaya.”
