Amanda Kloots ‘Heartbroken’ Over Nick Cordero’s Death: ‘Words Can’t Describe How Much I Will Miss Him’

Amanda Kloots opened up about the tragic passing of her husband Nick Cordero in a new interview on Wednesday (July 8).

“My husband was a very special man,” she told People. “He was everyone’s friend. We taught each other things, challenging each other to grow. We loved to sing and dance wherever we were. Just looking at him doing the simplest things would bring a smile to my face.”

Cordero passed away July 5 following a lengthy, arduous battle with COVID-19. Over more than three months in the hospital, the Broadway actor suffered numerous complications due to the virus, including multiple lung infections, septic shock and the amputation of his right leg.

“As a husband I don’t think a day went by that he didn’t say to me, ‘I’m the luckiest,’” Kloots continued. “Words can’t describe how much I will miss him, his presence, his voice. I’m heartbroken.”

The Tony-nominated actor, who appeared in Broadway’s Waitress, A Bronx Tale, Bullets Over Broadway and more, is survived by Kloots as well as the couple’s 1-year-old son Elvis.
