2020 Heat Latin Music Awards Set New Date

The fifth edition of the Heat Latin Music Awards are set to take place Dec. 17 in the Dominican Republic, Billboard can exclusively announce.

The show, which was originally set to take place May 14 but postponed due to the pandemic, will be co-hosted by Enrique Santos, iHeartLatino’s chairman and CCO; Anais Castro; and Osmariel Villalobos.

During the ceremony, Nicky Jam will receive the special Artista Oro award, honoring the “El Perdón” singer-songwriter for his “prestigious and influential trajectory in the industry,” according to a press release.

Nicky Jam is also a nominee alongside fellow hitmakers J Balvin, who is up for seven awards; Farruko with six nods; and Bad Bunny has five. Other nominees include Daddy Yankee, Karol G, El Alfa, Anuel AA, Sebastián Yatra, Camilo and Pedro Capó.

The 16 categories include best male artist, best female artist, best collaboration, best music video and influencer of the year, among other categories. See the complete list of nominees here.

The Heat Latin Music Awards are made in Latin American territory with a large component of popular voting, which aims to become a milestone in the music industry by awarding the main stars of Latin music. The awards are set to live stream on LosHeat.tv or you can watch on the HTV channel.
