10 Cool New Pop Songs To Get You Through The Week: Declan McKenna, Wafia, Lily Denning and More

Looking for some Monday motivation to help power you through the start of another week? We’re right there with you, and with some stellar new pop tunes, we’ve got you covered.

These 10 tracks from artists like Declan McKenna, Wafia and Lily Denning will get you energized to take on the week. Pop any of these gems into your personal playlists — or scroll to the end of the post for a custom playlist of all 10.

Lights, Myth, “Dead End”

Singer-songwriter Lights proves she’s fully at home in the dance world with “Dead End,” a ridiculously catchy first taste of an upcoming remix project of the same name, due in August. With an assist from producer Myth — who Lights also performed with on Deadmau5’s cubeV3 tour earlier this year — “Dead End” is the sort of sticky that you actually won’t mind dealing with this steamy July.

Saint Motel, “Preach”

Los Angeles’ Saint Motel is back with another flirty, danceable anthem in “Preach,” which will appear on the second installment of the three-part album, The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, later this year. Good, clean fun.

Declan McKenna, “Daniel, You’re Still A Child”

Every song that Declan McKenna has released so far from his upcoming album Zeroes is impressive. There’s some nice yelling on the chorus of the piano-heavy “Daniel, You’re Still a Child,” which arrived alongside an amusing green screen music video.

Lily Denning, “Spit It Out”

Rising English pop singer Lily Denning recruited producer Tim Ross for “Spit It Out,” a cheeky track about how two can play that game. The best part is that unexpected banger of a chorus.

Bailey Bryan, “Play W/ Me”

300 Entertainment’s Bailey Bryan’s latest is a buoyant, confident kiss-off to a f–kboy who she simply does not have the time for. “Play W/ Me” is a departure from the Nashville-based singer-songwriter’s typical country sound, and it’s clear that her powerful vocals are just as well-suited for pure pop.

Wafia, “Hurricane”

Indie-pop singer-songwriter Wafia has become an expert at ramping up her revealing verses toward universal choruses, and following top-notch tracks like “I’m Good” and “Pick Me,” “Hurricane” is an even sharper example of hook construction, the drums and harmonies arriving exactly when they’re most crucial.

Masn, “Hate Me!”

Nineteen-year-old Utah native Masn has described his upcoming debut EP as “a beautiful mess of my deepest fears,” and the gloriously emo “Hate Me!” lets the singer-songwriter revel in the angst, his voice broken yet steady in leading an oversized refrain.

Baby Queen, “Buzzkill”

London-based Baby Queen (born Bella Latham) is coming for the crown on “Buzzkill,” an electric, effortlessly cool single that balances its stream-of-consciousness snark with an arena-ready chorus; as we await new tunes from Lorde and Billie Eilish, make this alt-pop anthem a playlist add immediately.

Samia, “Fit N Full”

The drums kick in and then Samia is off to the races on this quietly powerful indie-rock track, which comments on the relationship between physical health and ephemeral happiness. Feeling “hollow and amazing” is not enough, she argues, and body positivity is intrinsic to the entire whirlwind experience of the song.

Contradash, “White Lie”

Recent Interscope signee Contradash is aiming high on “White Lie,” which straddles the line between dance, pop, rap and alt-rock in fewer than three colorful, deftly produced minutes.
