The nominations for the 2020 Latin Grammys awards were announced Tuesday (Sept. 29) with the 13-time nominated J Balvin leading the pack. The reggaeton-heavy list includes top nominees such as Bad Bunny, Ozuna and Anuel AA.
Earlier this year, the Latin Recording Academy revealed three new categories that were voted on and approved, including best pop/rock song, best reggaeton performance and best rap/hip-hop song.
“Over the last year, we continued engaging in discussions with our members to improve the awards process and actively encouraged diverse Latin music creators to join and participate,” said Gabriel Abaroa Jr., President/CEO of the Latin Recording Academy in an official statement of the nominations that “reflects the constant evolution of Latin music.”
With the theme “Music Makes Us Human,” the 21st annual Latin Grammys will air live at 8 p.m. ET on Nov. 19 via the Univision network.
