Who Should Win Artist of the Year at the 2020 MTV VMAs? Vote!

The 2020 MTV Video Music Awards revealed its nominations Thursday (July 30), with DaBaby, Megan Thee Stallion, Post Malone, Lady Gaga, The Weeknd and Justin Bieber as the six choices for artist of the year. But who’s your top choice?

DaBaby already nicknamed himself “Billboard Baby” after his Roddy Ricch-assisted hit “Rockstar” has been No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard’s Songs of the Summer chart for the last seven weeks. Fellow Interscope Records artist Lady Gaga leads the whole pack with nine nominations (tied with her “Rain On Me” collaborator Ariana Grande), as her sixth album Chromatica lands her back as one of the biggest pop stars on planet Earth.

The Weeknd also comes for the title for one of the biggest pop stars after coming in with the six nominations, the second-most out of any other artist while tying Billie Eilish. After his After Hours album topped the Billboard 200 for a full month following its March debut, the R&B superstar shines brought atop Billboard’s Radio Songs chart for the 16th week with “Blinding Lights,” dominated multiple Nielsen Music Canada charts for the first half of 2020, and became this year’s most Shazamed artist worldwide, with “Blinding Lights” being the most Shazamed song globally and in 16 countries.

Megan Thee Stallion got everyone dancing to her “Savage” hit throughout quarantine with its viral TikTok dance and Beyoncé-assisted remix, which gave the 25-year-old rapper her career-first Hot 100 No. 1 song and became a serious history-making contender for best rap performance at the 2021 Grammy Awards. Not to mention her Mad Max-style quarantine performance at the 2020 BET Awards last month felt like a full-on film itself.

So who’s your pick for artist of the year at the 2020 VMAs? Vote below!
