Watch Zedd & Jasmine Thompson Make Internet Magic in New ‘Funny’ Video

It’s funny how things work out, and in the case of the new single from Zedd and Jasmine Thompson, we mean that literally.

Today (July 16), the duo released “Funny” a brightly uplifting anthem that’s Zedd’s first track of 2020. The video is a must-watch, as it tracks Thompson ditching her jerkface ex-boyfriend then linking with Zedd (and his dogs) to work on the new music, utilizing Photo Booth, iMessage and Zoom to make musical magic at the speed of the internet. Even Lewis Capaldi makes a cameo.

“When I first heard Jasmine’s voice on this song, I was blown away by it and knew I wanted to work with her on ‘Funny,’” Zedd says in a statement in regards to the 19-year-old singer. “There’s so much emotion and energy in this song, and Jasmine’s voice captures it perfectly.”

“After a relationship, people always seem to come back and want to try again and pay you more attention and say they miss you. I had been through a relationship that wasn’t working and as soon as we ended it, they wanted to spend more time with me,” Thompson says of “Funny.” “That’s what this song is about, and collaborating with Zedd was an amazing experience – his approach was unique, gave the song an incredible energy, and really brought it to life.”

Zedd and Thompson will share all the “Funny” stories behind the new single during a Twitter conversation with @billboarddance happening tomorrow (July 17) at 12 p.m. PT. Join us online then for more internet magic. In the meantime, watch the video below.
