If Tones And I was hot in 2019, she was on fire in 2020.
Last year, the Australian singer and songwriter blasted out the gate with “Dance Monkey,” a viral hit which ruled sales charts around the globe and smashed records along the way.
As streaming music platforms tally up their year-end lists, Tones again finds herself at or near the top. “Dance Monkey” came in at No. 2 on Spotify’s list of most-streamed songs this year.
Also, it’s the third-most streamed song of the year on Apple Music, and the year’s most-Shazamed tune (and the all-time record holder, with 24.6 million Shazams to-date).
Tones isn’t resting on her laurels. She’s looking ahead to the 2021 release of her debut full-length album, and her new song “Fly Away” is currently flying on charts in her homeland, where it’s No. 24 on the ARIA Singles Chart and No. 2 on the ARIA Top 20 Australian Singles survey.
On Wednesday night (Dec. 2), Tones stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live to dish out her uplifting new song, with a full complement of bouncy backing singers.
