The Midnight achieves a career-best rank on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart (dated July 25), as well as its biggest week in equivalent album units earned, as Monsters motors in at No. 3.
The act’s first top 10 on the tally earned 8,000 equivalent album units, including 6,000 from album sales, in the week ending July 16, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
In its one prior appearance on Top Dance/Electronic Albums, The Midnight debuted at No. 12 in October 2018 with Kids (2,000 first-week units).
Shifting to Dance/Mix Show Airplay, Sofi Tukker and Gorgon City surge into the top 10 with the pandemic-themed “House Arrest” (13-8). It’s Sofi Tukker’s second top 10 on the chart and Gorgon City’s first.
The track claims airplay on core-dance outlets including KMVQ-HD2 San Francisco, Music Choice’s Dance/EDM channel and SiriusXM’s Diplo’s Revolution. (The Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart measures radio airplay on a select group of full-time dance stations, along with plays during mix shows on nearly 80 top 40-formatted reporters.)
In May, “House” posted peaks on the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales (No. 8) and Hot Dance/Electronic Songs (No. 21) charts.
