Tekashi 6ix9ine Hospitalized After Mixing Weight Loss Pills and McDonald’s Coffee

Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine revealed this week that he recently spent two days in a Florida hospital after he washed weight loss pills down with too much McDonald’s coffee. A source close to the artist confirmed the details of his hospitalization to Billboard.

Speaking to The Shade Room, the “Gooba” MC explained that after taking double the recommended dose of Hydroxycut his heart started racing, which he exacerbated by gulping down some java.

Tekashi, who’s now recovering at home, said he was trying to lose some of his corona lockdown weight after already shedding 25 pounds on his way down to his goal weight of 150. And, because he’s on probation, he also emphasized that he is not taking any other drugs, which could lead to a violation that would send him back behind bars.

The Brooklyn rapper has kept a relatively low profile over the past few weeks since dropping his sophomore album TattleTales on Sept. 4. In April, he was released from jail after serving 13 months on firearms and racketeering charges and he came off house arrest in August.

In an interview with Billboard around the time of the album’s release, he said if he had regrets about the choices that landed him in prison he wouldn’t be who he is today. “I feel like the situation I went through made me wiser, made me stronger, and made me built different,” he said. “It made me realize a lot of s–t. It’s like fundamentals, streetwise [and] just knowledge. At the end of the day, I went through some s–t where people would have ended up killing themselves.”

TSR Staff: Thembi! @ThembiTV_ _____________________________________ #TSRExclusiveDetails: #Roommates, earlier today Gossip Of The City broke the exclusive that #Tekashi69 was in the hospital due to an overdose. We spoke to 69 directly and can confirm this with additional details exclusive to The Shade Room. He’s currently at home and doing fine. He even went on his daily jog today. _____________________________________ So get this Roommates, Tekashi was hospitalized two days ago in Florida after he had 2 Hydroxycut pills, instead of the recommended 1 per day, which increased his heart rate and caused him to sweat excessively while in front of his computer. Tekashi tells us that this, along with drinking a McDonald’s coffee, kicked his overdose reaction into gear. If you aren’t familiar, hydroxycut is a weight-loss brand chile! _____________________________________ Tekashi also tells us that he was only taking hydroxycut and not drugs—not just because he doesn’t do drugs—but because of his strict probation that would send him right back to the slammer if he was poppianna. _____________________________________ In addition, 69 tells us that he gained a lot of weight after he left prison. He’s currently down almost 25 lbs and plans to keep going until he’s at his goal weight of 150 lbs before he makes his return to the ‘gram. _____________________________________ We will keep you posted on any updates Roommates!
