Taylor Swift May Have Announced the Name of Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively’s Daughter on ‘Folklore’

Taylor Swifts fans are not only a loyal bunch, but their attention to detail is impressive! Not long after the superstar dropped the 16-song Folklore on Friday (July 24), listeners noticed that she may have revealed the name of pals Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s third daughter.

The name? Betty, the title of the album’s 14th track.

James and Inez are the names of @blakelively and Ryan Reynolds’ kids (I bet #Betty is their third kid) and Taylor used their names for characters as an easter egg for the Gorgeous sound bite change my mind @taylorswift13 @taylornation13 #folklore

Taylor Swift is definitely trying to tell us Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ third daughter’s name is Betty. This requires a longer explanation than Twitter character count will allow but if you know, you know. #folklore @taylorswift13

“You heard the rumors from Inez/ You can’t believe a word she says,” Swift sings in one verse, and then later, “She said, ‘James, get in, let’s drive.”

James is the name of the couple’s 5-year-old daughter, while Inez is their 3-year-old’s moniker. Reynolds and Lively have been very quiet when it comes to their personal lives. They have yet to officially reveal the name of their youngest, who was born in late 2019.

A source told People that the song “Betty” was partially named after the couple’s infant daughter. Billboard has reached out to reps for Reynolds and Lively, as well as for Swift.

According to various reports, both Reynolds and Lively posted about the album to their Instagram Stories on its release date. Per People, the actress gave a shout-out to Swift, writing, “Thank you @taylorswift … Like you, Folklore is full of heart, soul, humor, passion, intelligence, wit, whimsy, reality, imagination, strength, vulnerability, and above all things: LOVE. We <3 you”

Swift revealed only one day before the album’s release that she had new music on the way. “Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I hadn’t planned on that DID happen,” she wrote on Instagram. “And that thing is my 8th studio album, folklore. Surprise Tonight at midnight I’ll be releasing my entire brand new album of songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into. I wrote and recorded this music in isolation but got to collaborate with some musical heroes of mine.”

Collaborators on her latest effort include The National’s Aaron Dessner, Bon Iver, and Jack Antonoff.
