The hit single – and incumbent Billboard Hot 100 champ – ascends to No. 1 on the list dated July 25 thanks to a 9% boost to 22.6 million in format audience in the week ending July 19, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
“Rockstar” replaces Roddy Ricch’s own “High Fashion,” featuring Mustard, which dips to No. 2 after a six-week stay at the summit. The flip makes Roddy Ricch the first act to complete the switch since Cardi B’s “Money’ yielded to a collaboration with Bruno Mars, “Please Me,” in April 2019.
DaBaby collects his second R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay leader with “Rockstar,” following the four-week leader “Suge” last year. Roddy Ricch, meanwhile, picks up his third after “Fashion” and “The Box,” which ruled for 12 frames earlier this year.
As “Rockstar” leads R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, it also rises two spots to No. 1 on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop chart, which ranks the most played songs at the radio format on monitored stations nationwide. There, the DaBaby-Roddy combo picks up a 5% increase in plays in the week ending July 19.
Elsewhere, “Rockstar” rebounds 2-1 for a third overall week in charge of the Rhythmic Songs airplay chart through a 3% gain in plays at that format. It also wins a second term at the helm of Rap Airplay via a 6% improvement in audience.
The gains across the radio landscape help “Rockstar” ascends 5-3 on the all-genre Radio Songs chart.
“Rockstar” appears on DaBaby’s most recent album, Blame It on Baby, which opened at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. On the latter, Blame has yet to fall below No. 6 through its first 13 weeks on the list.
