It’s been five years since Rihanna dropped her Anti album and on Friday (Jan. 29) she celebrated with some throwback pics. The singer wished herself a “happy #ANTIversary” in a post that included provocative snaps from the period, including several in which she wears nothing but fishnet stockings and a molded breastplate.
She also thanked her Navy for their die-hard dedication in a 30-second video that runs down some of the mega-accomplishments she achieved with her eighth studio album, which hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart, racked up 15+ billion streams worldwide and sold more than 11 million copies globally, with 32.5 million in sales for the smash single “Work,” 17+ million for “Needed Me,” 15 million for “Love on the Brain,” more than 5.5 million units moved of “Kiss It Better” and 4.5 for “Sex With Me.”
RihRih’s long-awaited follow-up to 2012’s Unapologetic has ended up on a lot of lists of the best albums of the 2010s, including Billboard’s, where it finished No. 7. The singer, who made a habit of releasing a new album every year or two for the first seven years of her career, has not dropped a new full-length since Anti.
