Olivia Rodrigo Speeds to Second Week at U.K. No. 1 With ‘Drivers License’

Olivia Rodrigo’s hot streak continues in the U.K. where “Drivers License” (Interscope) extends its reign into a second week.

The teenage California singer and actor easily takes the title with 117,000 chart sales, some three times higher than her closest rival, Anne-Marie, KSI and Digital Farm Animals’ “Don’t Play” (Atlantic), the Official Charts Company reports.

“Drivers License” won the race to the top in its first week, busting streaming records along the way.

This week, the hit single clocks up 13.7 million streams, the biggest one-week tally for a leader in two years, while a second track from the breakthrough artist cracks the Top 40 on the current frame, “All I Want,” a cut from High School Musical: The Musical: The Series on Disney +. It’s new at No. 32.

At No. 2, “Don’t Play” is the highest new entry this week on the Official U.K. Singles Chart, giving Anne-Marie her highest-charting single as a lead artist, and career bests for KSI and Digital Farm Animals.

The top five is completed by Ariana Grande’s “34+35” (Republic Records), up from No. 11 to No. 3, a new peak; followed by Little Mix’s “Sweet Melody” (down 4-2 via RCA) and The Kid Laroi’s “Without You” (RCA), up 6 -5, a new high.

Also making waves is Longest Johns’ sea shanty “Wellerman” (The Longest Johns) which rides into the chart at No. 37 after blowing up on social media. It’s the first Top 40 appearance for the Bristolians, comprised of Jonathan “JD” Darley, Andy Yates, Robbie Sattin and Dave Robinson.

Over on the Official U.K. Albums Chart, You Me At Six score a second No. 1 with Suckerpunch, the English rock band’s seventh studio album.

Suckerpunch arrives at the top spot, ahead of debuts from Sleaford Mods (Spare Ribs at No. 4 via Rough Trade), Why Don’t We (The Good Times and The Bad Ones at No. 5 via Atlantic), and Shame (Drunk Tank Pink at No. 8 via Dead Oceans).
