Monsta X Voices Support For Black Lives Matter Movement During TIME100 Talks Performance

Monsta X took a stand for Black Lives Matter on Wednesday (June 17) during their virtual Time100 Talks performance.

“As U.N. ambassadors for Sustainable Goal 16, we stand for peace and justice. As such, we have supported Black Lives Matter activism, and we believe that it’s time to acknowledge the issue and fix it,” said rapper I.M after a brief introduction from Hyungwon.

“In addition, with this COVID-19 going around a long time, we truly appreciate and respect all the medical workers and related staff who are sacrificing themselves during this difficult period,” Kihyun added, before Minhyuk told fans, “Please take care, stay positive and we believe that we can, and we’ll get through this together.”

Joohoney and Shownu then wrapped up the message by thanking Monsta X’s passionate fandom, with the latter concluding, “We love you Monbebe, and we pray for peaceful days of love, justice and health.”

This isn’t the first time the band has spoken out in support of Black Lives Matter. Earlier this month, Monsta X shared a message on social media in solidarity with the human rights movement, writing, “We stand together for equality, justice and dignity” alongside the hashtags #NoRacism, #NoViolence and #BlackLivesMatter.

During the segment, the K-pop boy band also performed “Flow” off their latest EP Fantasia, as well as “Someone’s Someone” from their 2020 English-language album All About Luv.
