Luke Combs Proves We’re ‘Better Together’ at 2020 Billboard Music Awards

As one of the top country contenders entering the 2020 Billboard Music Awards, Luke Combs demonstrated why he’s among the genre’s elite with a somber performance of his song “Better Together” on Wednesday night (Oct. 14).

Wearing a suit jacket and gripping the microphone stand tightly at the center of the Billboard Music Awards stage, Combs delivered a heartfelt take on “Better Together” while accompanied by a pianist. On the dimly lit stage in front of no audience, the performance carried a sense of intimacy, and allowed Combs to show off his serious side after more rabble-rousing sets during past award ceremonies.

“Better Together” is the latest single from Combs’ 2019 full-length What You See Is What You Get, which is up for top country album at this year’s awards. The singer-songwriter took home the top country artist trophy immediately before his performance on Wednesday night; Combs won the same award at last year’s ceremony.

“Thank you so much for loving what I do,” Combs said to his fans while accepting his award after the “Better Together” performance. “It never falls on deaf ears.”

The 2020 Billboard Music Awards is produced by dick clark productions, which is owned by MRC Entertainment, the parent company of Billboard.
