Listen to EXO Member Chanyeol’s Ska-Tinged Cover of Billie Eilish’s ‘Bad Guy’

EXO’s Chanyeol rips through a ska-tinged cover of Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy” in the trailer for his upcoming film The Box. The singer from the nine-member K-pop boy band lets it rip in the 30-second preview of his take on Grammy-winning singer’s smash, which opens with him strumming it out on an acoustic guitar in a whispery, bossa nova style.

With clips from the film interspersed in the preview, the camera pulls back midway through to reveal Chanyeol on electric guitar in front of a full band that includes a string quartet and horn section as the version explodes into a full ska rock jam. The singer will star as an aspiring singer in the jukebox road movie that also features Jo Dal-hwan as his manager.

The Box is Chanyeol’s first Korean film, which follows his big screen debut in 2015’s Salut d’Amour and appearance in the 2016 Chinese romantic comedy So I Married an Anti-Fan. The movie, directed by Yang Jung-woong — executive producer of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics opening and closing ceremonies — is due out in Korean theaters this spring.
