Liam Payne Announces ‘The LP Show’ Livestream Concert Series on Veeps

Liam Payne has not let social distancing keep him from staying close to fans during the COVID-19 pandemic, launching the fan favorite Weekly Round Up series on Youtube, catching up with Harry Styles in a much discussed TikTok Facetime session and hinting at a possible reunion for One Direction, which celebrates its 10-year anniversary this month.

Today Payne announced his return to the stage with The LP Show, debuting July 17 at 1 p.m. PT on Veeps, an online experiential platform from Benji and Joel Madden of Good Charlotte that allows artists to sell tickets direct to fans for live-streamed performances. “Act 1″ of The LP Show will be a fully produced concert with a live band, broadcast in real time to fans all over the world from a a fully sanitized, socially-distanced music venue.

“In an attempt to recreate as much of the live experience as possible, using a series of special effects and features, Liam will be uniquely equipped to interact with his audience during the show,” a release announcing the show explains.

Tickets are “pay what you want” starting at $10 and a portion of ticket proceeds will go to The Trussell Trust, which works with a network of more than 1,200 food banks across the U.K. to improve access to food during the coronavirus outbreak. Spotify will serve as Veep’s presale partner for The LP Show (a first for the two companies), offering Payne’s top Spotify listeners first dibs on tickets via Spotify’s Fans First program. Presale tickets will available tomorrow (July 9) while general public tickets will be available starting Friday (July) 10 at 12 p.m. PT.

“Ticket purchases and viewership of livestream shows are exploding as these performances continue to prove to be an important way for fans to connect with their favorite artists, and we expect a very excited global audience for Liam’s first show,” Joel Madden tells Billboard. “He has a really loyal and passionate fan base and he’s a great artist for Veeps to collaborate with Spotify on, in our first direct-to-fan presale.”
