After teasing that his new single “Holy” is coming this Friday (Sept. 18), Justin Bieber posted an Instagram pic Monday (Sept. 14) from the video shoot with “WAP” director Colin Tilley.
The image features Bieber in a dirty long-sleeve white shirt, with his face caked in what looks like oil. Tilley is wearing a headset while seated in a director’s chair next to him. The post featured a comment from Bieber’s longtime manager, Scooter Braun, who wrote, “New era. Friday.”
Earlier in the day, Bieber teased that the new song was coming on Friday morning with the message “FOUR DAYS,” along with an image of a blue sky and a link to the pre-save for the track. At press time, no other information was available on the track.
Bieber got the hype machine going on Sept. 11 with a first-look post, which was amplified by Braun, who retweeted the hashtag “#newerabegins?” It seems like his A-list friends are on board, with J Balvin posting four emoji prayer hands in response, Chance the Rapper calling Tilley “my guy,” and the director offering up two rocket ship emojis.
Bieber has been busy during the COVID-19 lockdown, posting a cover of K-Ci and Jojo’s “All My Life,” taking on a hilarious starring role in DJ Khaled’s “Popstar” video as a pinch-hit for Drake, getting new ink on his neck and re-teaming with Jaden Smith on “Falling For You.” In August, fans thought a dream collab was possibly in the works with Shawn Mendes when Braun posted rare videos of the duo joining Tori Kelly around a piano to riff, setting off wild speculation.
The singer has also kept a relatively high profile while quarantining thanks to his Biebers on Watch series with wife Hailey Bieber for Facebook Watch. He also with released more than two dozen videos to promote his most recent album, this year’s Changes.
