Juice WRLD Returns to No. 1 on Artist 100 Chart, Thanks to ‘Legends Never Die’ Debut

Juice WRLD jumps from No. 11 to No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart (dated July 25) to become the top musical act in the U.S. for a third total week, powered by his posthumous LP Legends Never Die.

The set soars in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 497,000 equivalent album units, the biggest sum for a title this year, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

Meanwhile, 17 of the album’s tracks chart on the Billboard Hot 100, led by five in the top 10, as Juice WRLD joins The Beatles and Drake as the only acts ever to chart at least that many songs in the region simultaneously.

The Artist 100 measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.

Juice WRLD first led the Artist 100 in March 2019, when his album Death Race for Love debuted atop the Billboard 200, and again in December following his Dec. 8 death.

Juice WRLD is one of six artists to have topped the Artist 100 chart posthumously, dating to the chart’s July 2014 inception, following David Bowie (January 2016), Prince (May 2016), Tom Petty (October 2017), XXXTentacion (June 2018) and Pop Smoke (a week ago). Plus, Linkin Park led in August 2017 after frontman Chester Bennington’s death.

Among other Artist 100 chart moves, BTS bounds 8-3 as its new set Map of the Soul: 7 – The Journey opens at No. 2 on World Albums; Marshmello re-enters at No. 17, as he adds two new Hot 100 top 10s with Juice WRLD; and Margo Price debuts at No. 87 as her new LP That’s How Rumors Get Started bows at No. 2 on Americana/Folk Albums and No. 17 on Top Country Albums.
