Jennifer Lopez and Maluma’s “Pa’ Ti” debuts at No. 9 on the Hot Latin Songs chart (dated Oct. 10), yielding Lopez her highest charting effort since 2014. Their first collaboration is one of the pair’s two songs released Sept. 24, and also arrived as a two-part music video on the same date. (“Lonely,” the second cut, bows at No. 2 on the Latin Digital Song Sales chart.)
Hot Latin Songs blends airplay, digital sales and streaming activity. “Pa’ Ti” arrives in the top 10 mainly on the strength of streaming activity and sales. It logged earned 3.1 million on-demand streams in the week ending Oct. 1, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, which yields a top 20 debut on Latin Streaming Songs.
“Pa’ Ti” concurrently arrives at No. 1 on Latin Digital Song Sales with 4,000 downloads sold.
“Pa’ Ti,” which was produced by Jon Leone and Édgar Barrera and co-written by Lopez and Maluma, earns Lopez her seventh top 10 on Hot Latin Songs and her highest debut ever. It’s also her highest charting song since her featured turn on Wisin’s “Adrenalina,” alongside fellow featured act Ricky Martin, reached No. 2 (March 22, 2014). “Pa’ Ti” is Lopez’s highest charting single as a lead artist since “Follow the Leader,” her collaboration with Wisin & Yandel, spent two weeks at No. 1 in 2013 (July 7-14, 2012).
For Maluma, “Pa’ Ti” marks his 13th top 10 and highest debut on Hot Latin Songs since “Felices Los 4” opened at No. 8 (May 2017).
“Pa’ Ti” drew publicity thanks to a TikTok “Behind the Video” exclusive premiere that treated fans to a making-of featurette of the song’s music video before its premiere on the app. The event drew 2,000 video creates to “Pa’ Ti,” and the #PaTiChallenge generated over 1.5 billion views. (TikTok activity does not contribute to the charts).
