Producer collective Internet Money earns its first top 10 as a credited artist on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart as “Lemonade,” a collaboration with Gunna that features Don Toliver and NAV, lifts 15-9 on the list dated Sept. 26.
Internet Money is the collaborative name of a venture by songwriters and producers Nick Mira and Taz Taylor, both of whom have already helmed several hip-hop hits under their own names. Mira is likely best known for his partnership with Juice WRLD: Mira shares production credits on 15 of the late Chicago rapper’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs hits, including his breakout No. 1 “Lucid Dreams,” which reigned for two weeks in October 2018.
Taylor, meanwhile, has charted most of his credits through work with Lil Tecca, including on “Ran$om,” which soared to No. 2 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs in April 2019.
While Internet Money makes its first official foray into the chart’s top 10, Gunna collects his sixth. The rapper previously visited the tier with three Lil Baby collaborations – “Drip Too Hard” (No. 3), “Heatin’ Up” (No. 10) and “Never Recover,” featuring Drake (No. 9) – as well as a featured turn on Young Thug’s “Hot” (No. 5) and “Turks,” his collaboration with NAV and Travis Scott (No. 9).
For NAV, “Lemonade” marks his second top 10 appearance, after “Turks,” while Don Toliver cracks the barrier for the first time.
“Lemonade” rises on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, which combines airplay, song sales and song streams, largely thanks to the lattermost metric. The single registered 17.2 million U.S. streams in the week ending Sept. 17, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, up 32% from its 13 million sum in the previous week. The new total pushes the track 9-6 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs chart.
In addition, the collaboration sold 1,000 copies in the week ending Sept. 17 up 73%. Radio airplay, meanwhile, arrives from the Rhythmic format, as “Lemonade” hops 35-32 in its second week on the Rhythmic Songs airplay chart, which ranks the most-played songs at the format nationwide. The track makes the three-spot gain through a 43% boost in plays in the week ending Sept. 20.
“Lemonade” also makes improvements in the R&B/hip-hop radio realm. It reaches 600,000 in audience impressions at the format in the week, though it remains below the 50-position cutoff for the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.
“Lemonade” appears on Internet Money’s debut album, B4 The Storm, which debuted at No. 6 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. In its third week on the survey, it climbs 12-10.
