First Stream Latin: New Music from Nathy Peluso, Camilo & More

First Stream Latin is a compilation of the best new Latin songs, albums and videos recommended by the Billboard Latin editors. Check out this week’s picks below.

Nathy Peluso, “Delito” (Sony Music Latin)

As she continues to make the rounds with her viral hit “Bzrp Music Sessions Vol. 36,” fueled by its success on TikTok, Nathy Peluso dropped a music video for “Delito” this week. Marking the third single from her sophomore album Calambre, the song, produced by hitmakers Rafa Arcaute, Fede Vindver, RVNES and Pearl Lion, oozes a sensual dancehall-neo-perreo fusion about a toxic yet lustful relationship. “You know that, no/ I won’t give into temptation/ No one else but me/ Feel this chemistry, sexual tension,” she sings in her self-penned lyrics. Bringing the sassy words to life, Nathy, who’s also a professional dancer, delivers an impeccable performance in the sultry music video directed by Agustin Puente.

Camilo, “Ropa Cara” (Sony Music Latin)

Camilo is keeping it real in “Ropa Cara,” a pop track that thrives off of its tropical vibe. Penned and produced by the Colombian artist and Edgar Barrera, the track finds Camilo reminiscing on past relationships and the lengths he’d go to please his significant other. “Now she wants me to wear expensive clothes Balenciaga, Gucci, Prada … but I don’t have any of that,” Camilo confesses. “The story occurred at a time in my life when I tried to alter who I was for love,” Camilo said about the song. “I have been very open about my present and what I’m living today, and I felt like it was time to share a little bit more about my past.” “Cara Ropa” is the third single from Camilo’s forthcoming sophomore album.

Flor de Rap & Denise Rosenthal, “Bailalo Mujer” (La Oreja)

Hailing from Santiago, Flor de Rap and Denise Rosenthal have joined forces to put the fresh wave of Chilean artists on the map. “From Chile to the world,” kicks off rapper Flor in the video before introducing their collaboration “Bailalo Mujer.” The danceable pop-urban track is the ultimate girl gang, women empowerment anthem for 2021. It talks about lifting, supporting and rooting for each other.  “In our philosophy, we’re all equal/ And with respect we build realities/ We don’t believe in monarchies, that’s why we’re all queens here,” sings Rosenthal. Two minutes into the track, Flor flaunts her slick rapping. Both Chilean stars are featured in the vibrant, playful music video.

Anuel AA & Ozuna, Los Dioses (Real Hasta La Muerte LLC & Aura Music Corp)

Anuel AA and Ozuna surprised fans with their first-ever joint album Los Dioses, which is not only a nod to their friendship, but also a tribute to their roots. “We wanted to do what we did before,” Ozuna told Billboard. “Take people back to how it was, our beginnings — what we did from the very first day.” The 12-track set finds the Puerto Rican stars swapping the roles of “good guy and bad guy” where they play off of each other’s strengths and signature styles: Anuel known for his gritty flow and Ozuna for his sweet tenor. Delivering back-to-back-back reggaeton and trap bangers, the pair slow things down in “Contra el Mundo,” an ultra-romantic tune, and the corrido, polka-style “Municiones.”

Dimelo Flow, Sech, Tyga & J.I., “Girl Like You” (INgrooves/Rich Music/Interscope Records)

After being nominated for producer of the year at the Billboard Latin Music Awards and landing on Billboard’s Top Producers chart in 2020, Dimelo Flow continues on his hitmaking streak, dropping his first single of 2021 “Girl Like You” via Interscope Records. To enter the year with a bang, the Panamanian hitmaker teamed up with Sech, Tyga and newcomer Latinx artist J.I the Prince of N.Y. for an alluring dancehall song with flairs of Panamanian reggae. Co-produced by Cerebro, “Girl Like You” is a bilingual love letter to that dream girl. “I crafted a refreshing sound especially aimed for the general market but at the same time something our Latin community can also be part of and enjoy,” Dimelo said in a statement. “Girl Like You” forms part of Flow’s forthcoming album Members Only. Watch the mystical, adventure-filled, Fernando Lugo-directed video below.

Billie Eilish & Rosalia, “Lo Vas a Olvidar” (Darkroom/Interscope Records)

Billie Eilish stuns singing completely in Spanish on “Lo Vas a Olvidar.” With dreamlike, almost hazy melodies, the slow-tempo, bilingual song brings to the forefront Eilish and Rosalia’s vocal chemistry and enchanting harmonies. “Dime si me echas de meno’ aún” (“Tell me if you still miss me”), Rosalia kicks off. “Dime si no me perdonas aún” (“Tell me if you still don’t forgive me”), continues Eilish. The two artists go back and forth on the melancholic lyrics before Eilish closes off with a thought-provoking verse in English: “If I wasn’t important, then why would you waste all your poison?” The official music video, filmed by award-winning director Nabil, shows the two artists’ powerful performances in a somber setting.

Ingrid Contreras, En Vivo, Vol. 2 (Show Business)

After releasing the first part of her En Vivo album in 2020, newcomer Ingrid Contreras continues to pay homage to Latin music’s biggest names in En Vivo, Vol. 2. The 15-set production kicks off with her modern yet romantic version of Jenni Rivera’s “Resulta,” a song Contreras says “overrides me with emotion.” Produced and directed by Francisco Javier Olivas Cota and released via Show Business, Contreras is keeping the essence of Latin pop, cumbia and Regional Mexican alive. Her fresh, crisp, powerhouse vocals shine in every track, including her own renditions on hits by Sin Bandera, Camilo Sesto, Juan Gabriel and Rocio Durcal, to name a few. “The artists that previously recorded these songs have my respect and admiration for the legacy they’ve left,” Contreras expressed in a statement. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to create my own versions in honor of their legacy.” Stream and listen to En Vivo, Vol. 2 below.
