DJ Cassidy To Help Launch ‘Get Up, Stand Up’ Joe Biden Spotify Playlist

Tonight’s (July 9) virtual fundraiser for presumptive Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden will not only feature an all-star roster of artists including Diplo, DJ D-Nice, Jermaine Dupri and DJ Cassidy, but the Sen. Kamala Harris-hosted event will also launch a new evolving Spotify playlist of curated songs on the former Vice President’s Spotify channel called “Get Up, Stand Up: Songs for the Soul of America.”

The playlist will be continuously updated with songs chosen by Cassidy and other guest curators from now until the Nov. 3 election and it will be available immediately after the event, which kicks off at 7 p.m. ET. “I could not be more honored and excited to be launching Vice President Biden’s official Spotify channel,” Cassidy — who spun at both of Pres. Obama’s inaugurations — tells Billboard exclusively. “Music has always played a significant role in America’s social evolution and now, more than ever, music has the power to inspire, uplift and unite. I hope the playlists on this channel can serve to energize and mobilize us all between now and November.”
