‘Challenge Accepted’: Here Are the Celebs Posting Black & White Pics in the Name of Supporting Women

Challenge accepted! A new social media campaign lit up the internet on Monday (July 27) as female celebrities posted black-and-white selfies in the name of women supporting women.

Using the viral hashtag #challegeaccepted, artists and celebs from Meghan Trainor and Paula Abdul to Zooey Deschanel and Paris Hilton took part in the feel-good social media trend, adding a much-needed dose of positivity to everyone’s Twitter and Instagram feeds during the pandemic.

“Challenge accepted…Thank you @TerriSeymour!! I truly love this challenge and message. Everyday let’s amplify and support the voices of women!” Abdul wrote alongside a smiling grayscale photo of herself before nominating Janet Jackson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato and Katy Perry to take part in the challenge.

“#ChallengeAccepted,” Hilton captioned her own glamour shot. “Thank you to all the amazing women for your beautiful messages & nominating me for this challenge. I love when women come together to support each other. One woman can make a difference but together we can rock the World! #WomenSupportingWomen.”

For her part, Joy Williams chose to include a collage of black-and-white photos featuring Brittany Howard, Brandi Carlile and other friends and musicians along with a picture of herself and another woman.
