Britney Spears Opens Up About Early Acne Struggles While Filming Her First Movie

Britney Spears praised her skincare progress in a new Instagram selfie Monday (Aug. 3) while opening up about her early struggles with acne.

“When I was younger I never really had an acne problem until I did my first movie … I was so nervous to be on camera so I went to the dermatologist for stronger skincare products !!!” she wrote in the caption. “It cleared up quickly after but you have to be careful because prescribed products are very strong !!!! I remember waking up and saying wow it’s gone.”

She landed her debut film role when she was 21 alongside Zoe Saldana and Taryn Manning in the 2002 road comedy film Crossroads. The 38-year-old pop star went on to explain how she’s now grateful to the sun for gifting her with “a natural glow.”

“Now I stay outside a lot and I give the sun credit for lifting my spirits and giving me a natural glow !!!!!” Spears wrote while detailing the origins of her pink flower crown seen in the picture. “It was so hot yesterday but look what I found …. my mini rose garden hidden in the back !!!! I put them in my hair and I thought they were exquisite.”

Spears’ longtime boyfriend Sam Asghari also lent a hand in lifting her spirits by commenting, “so pretty” with a heart emoji.
