“Quien Sabe” turns 2

Natti Natasha celebrated two years since the release of her first solo track “Quien Sabe.” The bachata tune was featured on Natasha’s debut album Illuminati with which she scored her first top 10 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart logging the biggest week for an album by a woman since 2017.

Ozuna’s sweet performance

Surrounded by all things sweet, from popsicles to cotton candy, Ozuna performed his recently-released single “Caramelo” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. For the other half of his performance, he performed the chart-topping Black Eyed Peas-assisted “Mamacita.”

On the charts, “Caramelo” becomes the Puerto Rican singer-songwriter’s first top 10 debut of 2020, and his second new top 10 of the year overall. “Caramelo” sits at No. 7 on the Hot Latin Songs chart (dated June 27) and joins his earlier top 10, “Mamacita” with Black Eyed Peas and J.Rey Soul, which holds at No. 3.

Conciencia Collective alliance 

Comprised of more than 35 executives from the Latin music industry — including artists, activists, artist managers, publicists, among others — Conciencia Collective spearheads a recently-announced initiative in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement in an effort to create awareness about racial and social injustice.

The intention is to “educate our colleagues, artists and peers of influence in order to gain their advocacy. Our ongoing initiatives also focus on the many issues affecting our Latin community,” according to a press release issued by the group. Read more about it here.

Becky G joins virtual Latin GRAMMY in The Schools program

The Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation announced a new virtual Latin Grammy In The Schools educational program featuring a conversation and performance with singer-songwriter Becky G.

The event is set for June 30 at 3pm ET and can be watched on the Latin Grammy’s YouTube Channel. “I am excited to be joining the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation for their first virtual Latin Grammy In The Schools event. Over the years, their work cultivating and empowering young music makers has inspired me and I am looking forward to joining their mission to give back to our community through what I love most – music,”  said Becky G. 

Pride playlists

Billboard continues to roll out ultimate Pride playlists curated by Latinx artists. This week, Raymix, Kany García, Javiera Mena and Rita Indiana shared their Pride anthems.
